Palmanova<\/a>, a resort town in the Calvi\u00e0 municipality of Mallorca, recently hosted the lively Myotragus Swing Festival. From 16 to 19 October, the seaside promenades were filled with the rhythms of swing as more than 200 dancers \u2013 half of whom travelled from overseas \u2013 gathered to celebrate this niche style of jazz. Organisers arranged classes, social dances and performances across local venues, giving residents and visitors an opportunity to learn vintage steps and enjoy live bands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival, named after Mallorca\u2019s native Balearic wild goat, aimed to promote cultural tourism during the shoulder season. According to Calvi\u00e0\u2019s town hall, the event drew dance enthusiasts from across Europe, boosting occupancy for hotels and businesses in Palmanova. Street dances were open to the public, and the atmosphere was described as inclusive and family-friendly. Attendees not only experienced swing music, but also got a taste of local cuisine and artisans at the accompanying market stalls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
