The main companies are Orquidea,\u00a0Majorica, Madreperla, Ondina and Crisali. Their factories can be found on the main road from Montuiri to Manacor, around 30km east from Palma.<\/p><p><strong>5. Hand blown glass:<\/strong>\u00a0Glassblowing has been a part of Mallorca\u2019s history since the 2nd century BC.\u00a0The three major players in glass making on Mallorca are\u00a0Gordiola\u00a0near Algaida,\u00a0Lafiore\u00a0on the road from Palma to Valldemossa and\u00a0Menestralia\u00a0in Campanet. With over 40 autochtonous grape varieties to choose from, they produce full-bodied reds, fruity whites and fresh ros\u00e9s.\u00a0Most vineyards\u00a0offer wine tasting tours and have shops where they sell their vintages, which you can often also find at the local supermarkets.<\/p><p><strong>7. Pottery:\u00a0<\/strong>Another traditional craft with roots dating back to the Neolithic,\u00a0the most important pottery areas in Mallorca are the villages of P\u00f2rtol and Sa Cabaneta of Marratx\u00ed, where there are large deposits of red clay that can be used in the workshops.\u00a0The traditional local ceramic piece is the \u2018siurell\u2019, an ancestral earthenware figure painted in bright colours that double\u00a0as a whistle. Textiles:<\/strong>\u00a0The Mallorcan traditional fabric is the Roba de Lleng\u00fces (cloth of tongues). This is made from lengths of cotton (70%) and linen (30%) yarn, parts of which have been waterproofed so that, when the threads are dyed, only some pieces soak up the colour creating distinctive faded edges.
